I hope this help.........
As many have indicated their perception and understanding of a rule for an inactive corps re-entering active status, the rule used to be, If a Division I, now World Class, is inactive for one year, they can re-enter the next year as a World Class Corps. If a World Class Corps is inactive for more than one year, they would re-enter active status in Division II/III, now Open Class.
That process has changed a bit. It is not a hard and fast rule. There is a review/evaluation process conducted by Drum Corps International where any corps trying to enter active status or a corps re-emgering will go through. As the process continues, a recommendation from the Evaluation Committee will be sent to the Board of Drum Corps International where they will make a decision as to whether a corps will be invited to participate in the activity; whether a corps will be invited to participate as an Open Class Corps; or if a corps will be invited to participate as a World Class Corps.
Capital Regiment is not exempt from this process. We will go through this evaluation process just like any other corps will and corps in the past have. This is not a quick process by any stretch of the imagination.
When it is determined what CLASS Capital Regiment will participate in, it will be placed upon the Official Capital Regiment Web Site. Stay tuned for that information to be announced there.
Everyone here at Capital Regiment is excited about the opportunity to return to active status. We are developing a staff that is extremely excited to be here. They are all Professionals and Educators that are looking forward to helping provide the members of Capital Regiment a wonderful experience.
Thank you for your interest in Capital Regiment.
