Dyansty drums are wood shells
The hardware is what I think makes the difference. I heard from some people about that being the reason so I am not sure

The best explanation I've gotten is that, The pearl and yamaha have the same free-floating design, No stress on the shell. But look at dynasty, It dosn't have the caged look, and everything is bolted on to the shell. Maybe not as much as a traditional snare, but there has to be some stress on the shell from the ring and the snare system to be bolted on.
I've heard dynasty builds their snares like tanks for this reason also. Don't exactly know if It's 100% true. Can anyone back me up here?

Yeah at my high school we march dynastys and this is the second season with them and they are doing well. I didnt really like it when we first got them but its kinda growing on me though. I still like pearl better than anything though and thats what my personal drum is. The yamaha snares arent completely free-flooting though they attach towards the the bottom of the shell..

i'm still working on getting a personal drum for my house. my concert snare that i never use was more expensive than the marching snare my HS uses that I wanted.

I love the Hybrid heads from Evans. And how are those monoposto carries?
