Could the 2009 show possibly be inspired by a specific event that took place in 2003?

p.s. if anyone has that mp3, please let me know. The one on dci.org doesn't work  lol

I think that would be the coolest experience.  (not for guard though)
I love storms and especially violent ones.

Oh man, I could only imagine how bad the guard was feeling it. Spinning the flag had to feel liek you were spinning it in water.

Was Capital the last on that show?

Marching in storms is crazy insane.  A few years ago, my marching band had practice in rain monday, hail tuesday, sleet thursday, snow friday, and a State Finals performance in 10 degree weather on Friday.  That's easily my most extreme experience in outdoor performance.  Of course, it's nothing like marching in a thunderstorm, but I thought I could relate at least a little.

i never read the article until just now...

and i came up with a question...
down here in VA Beach where the DCI shows are normally in Chesapeake or Suffolk, show get moved inside before it rains...

Kudos to the guys in Cap Reg that year, those BAMF guys and girls

My junior year of HS we went to a competition where it had rained the day before, so the field was a mudhole. The weather was nice all day, but as soon as we stepped onto the field, a downpour let go, It was a red band on the Weather Channel i would later learn. we marched right through and as we were going off the field to taps, the rain quit. crazy stuff.

we have a HS field down here that has been around since the 1950's and 60s and the drainage are excitings
if it rains the morning of or night before a compettition and there was a football game the night before, the field's a mudhole. not fun to march in at all

On tour last year I found that we played almost every show on turf so rain wont be a problem for shows just rehersals.

i've marched when it was 20 degrees out and freezing rain, not fun

yikes...

it doesnt get too cold down here in VA Beach. but we go up to Allentown for ACCs Nov 15-16 so being frozen is going to be kinda new...

personally, i hate playing when its cold cuz it takes sooo long to get warmed up for battery. my hands take forever to warm up in the cold. warm up not as in temp. but in ready to play. it are excitings sooo bad. not looking forward to that next weekend!

hey... on the note of ACCs... any of your high schools going to ACCs if you're in TOB???
